The Speaker Hub

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 16–20 June 2025

Welcome to the Speaker Hub

Discover everything you need to know about speaking at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this June.

You’ll notice we talk about the Speaker Portal a few times throughout the Speaker Hub. What’s the difference? If you need to do something (e.g. Register your Speaker Passes), you can do that on the Speaker Portal. If you’re looking for guidance or information, you’ll find it here on the Speaker Hub.

Speaker Hub - The page you’re currently on. This provides digestible information on speaking at Cannes and everything that it involves.

Speaker Portal – This is where you can add and edit speaker/session information and upload or download your assets.

canneslions.com – Once you’re registered, this is where you can manage your passes and accommodation.

Got questions?

Don’t worry – as a Cannes Lions speaker, you’re entitled to a 30–60-minute onboarding call with your designated Content Operations Manager, who can answer all your questions.

Festival Speaker

What do you have in common with Malala Yousafzai, President Bill Clinton, David Droga and the late great Dame Vivienne Westwood? They were once Cannes Lions Festival speakers – and now, so are you.

Our goal is to help you – whether you’re a speaker or an organiser – feel as prepared as possible before you arrive in Cannes and to make your experience at Cannes Lions a career highlight. To do that, we’ll ask you to complete some tasks for us along the way. Both don’t worry – we’ll keep it simple, and we’ll send you reminders of upcoming deadlines. Keen to get ahead of the game? Read on – and start your speaker journey with us now.

Speaker Portal

The Speaker Portal is where you’ll upload all of your session and speaker information, apply for your speaker passes, input your technical stage requirements and more. It’s also where you can add speakers’ accessibility requirements and complete our anonymous Diversity, Equity & Inclusion survey. Post-Festival, you’ll be able to provide feedback via our speaker survey.

There’s no ‘right’ way to use the Speaker Portal. You can include everything at once or return multiple times - often the case when coordinating a session with several speakers. Just make sure you click ‘Save’ before you leave the page! And please submit everything before our deadlines.

Different sections may be locked after they’re confirmed – e.g. the synopsis section or the speaker profile (biography and photo). This is normal, so don’t worry! If you need to make changes, reach out to your Content Operations Manager and they’ll be happy to help you.

The website listing tab feeds directly to the Cannes Lions website. Any updates you make to the title, synopsis and speaker profile will show up on the Festival Programme and Speakers pages once these pages are live – so make sure you’re happy with what you’ve submitted!

Tasks and Deadlines

We want delegates to be excited about coming to Cannes Lions, and what’s the best way to excite them? Sharing our global speaker line-up and Festival programme, of course. That’s why we’ll be encouraging you to share your speaker assets and session details once you’re confirmed.

As a speaker or organiser, we understand that you may want to book accommodation. Therefore, registering for those all important speaker passes in good time will ease some of your stresses.

Festival Passes

Our Cannes Lions delegate lanyards are iconic.

Delegates wear them with pride around the Festival. But they’re also essential.

All speakers must register to have a Speaker Pass. A Speaker Pass is the equivalent of a Classic Pass, sprinkled with a few additional benefits. Read on to see what all speakers are entitled to.

Speakers receive a five-day complimentary pass that includes:

  • full access to the Palais and its full programme of sessions
  • access to the Speaker Lounge
  • fast-track pass pick-up
  • backstage access on the day of the session
  • access to all Awards shows
  • use of our partner bnetwork’s live accommodation booking tool, with access to accommodation (up to a 3* rating) in and around Cannes
  • Closing Party access on Friday evening.

Registering for your Speaker Pass

Make this a priority. It’s really easy to do.

Simply complete the Festival Passes section of the Speaker Portal. Most of the details will already have been pulled through from your speaker profile. Complete what’s missing, and that’s it.

You’ll then receive an email with instructions on how to access accommodation booking options through our partner, bnetwork. We suggest you look at booking ASAP to avoid disappointment. For more information, please see the accommodation section below.

Please note

Cannes Lions doesn’t cover any speaker accommodation. Speakers are responsible for making their own accommodation reservations and subsequent payments.

Upgrades

For more information on upgrading your Speaker Pass, you can:

  1. head to your Pass Manager*;
  2. find the pass that needs to be upgraded;
  3. click ‘Options’ and then select ‘Change Pass’;
  4. on the next screen, select the type of pass that you’d like to upgrade your current pass to;
  5. go to Pending Orders and check out via credit card to pay for the difference.

Once you check out, your pass moves back to Purchased Orders and will be ready to go!

*Speaker Passes are under the account of the ‘Pass Manager’ you’ve listed in the Speaker Portal.

Speaker support

Do you need specific people to attend the technical check or be backstage with the speaker(s)? Please apply for a Support Pass via the portal. You’ll need to do this even if these people already have a pass, as their regular pass won’t grant them access.

Things to note

  • Speaker Support Passes are available for the day of your talk and/or the day of your technical check only.
  • Speaker Support Passes allow access to the Speaker Lounge, backstage and technical checks, with limited access to the wider Festival. If you require full access or a full week pass, please check out the purchase options available.
  • You can apply for up to 2 passes. Note that this doesn’t guarantee you 2 passes.
  • We recommend no more than this number to attend the technical check or backstage as both spaces have limited capacity, please consider this when applying.
  • Approved passes are subject to our internal review process, and we withhold the right to decline any application that doesn’t meet our criteria. If you have any questions about the process, please reach out to your Content Operations Manager.

Speakers' Guests

If you’ve got speakers’ guests who’d like to attend the Festival, this pass is for you. It’s exclusively offered to speakers’ guests at a discounted rate and is not available through the Pass Picker. To buy a Speaker Guest Pass, please apply via the portal under Festival Passes.

Festival access

  • Complete Festival access, including the Awards Show, for the selected pass days (valid for the day of the tech check and the session only)
  • Access to the Speaker Lounge for the selected pass days
  • Backstage access on the day of the talk
  • 1 Day Speaker Guest Pass - €525 + sales tax
  • 2 Day Speaker Guest Pass - €1050 + sales tax

Accommodation

You’ll need to register for a pass to book your accommodation. With your Speaker Pass, you’ll be able to see what’s available at preferred hotels in the City of Cannes and surrounding areas.

Accommodation in Cannes during the Festival is highly sought after and sells out fast. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend that you register your pass to secure accommodation as soon as possible.

Please Note

Cannes Lions doesn’t cover accommodation costs for speakers. These must be paid for by the session organiser/speaker.

How to book your accommodation

After registering for your pass, head to the Cannes Lions website and log in, your pass will be stored in the 'Purchased Orders' section. Please note each pass will sit under the account of the pass organiser listed in the portal when you registered.

Below the pass details, you will see a 'Manage Accommodation' button. This will take you to a new page where you can select the dates of stay and browse and book available rooms.

Most hotels have a 4-night minimum stay - however, this can differ between hotels. Please review bnetwork's booking Terms & Conditions for detailed information relating to accommodation

If you have any accessibility requirements please contact bnetwork by email at canneslions@bnetwork.com. Alternatively, you can call bnetwork on +33 (0)4 93 68 76 00.

bnetwork are Cannes Lions' Official Accommodation Partner. Based in the City of Cannes they specialise in hotel management solutions for large-scale events in the area.

Stage AV Information and Technical Checks

You may need to fill out a stage audiovisual (AV) questionnaire on the portal. This will allow you to inform us of the technical specifications required for your session. You’ll also have the opportunity to review the equipment available on your stage, select your furniture preferences and provide any other information that may be useful to the technical teams.

Will your session include numerous technical elements?

Please talk with your Content Operations Manager to ensure that we can accommodate your requirements. Do this as soon as possible, as we are better positioned to fulfil your technical needs with prior notice.

Please note

You’ll need to cover all additional technical costs for anything you need that’s outside of our standard technical package.

Technical checks

Some sessions require technical checks. If this applies to your session, your Content Operations Manager will let you know. Only speakers and essential team members should attend. Technical checks normally take place the day before your talk unless stated otherwise by your Content Operations Manager. These will take place in a dedicated space backstage (not onstage). You’ll need to hand over your final presentation deck at this point to our stage AV team. All presentations are run from our show computers and cannot be run from personal laptops.

What happens in a technical check?

During the technical check, your Content Operations Manager and technician will run through:

  • Your slide presentation and who will operate the clicker (Speaker / Technician)
  • Confirm stage furniture requirements
  • Test all videos and sound in their entirety
  • Emcee’s introduction for speakers
  • Technical cues
  • Speaker entrances and exits
  • Positioning of countdown clock and monitors

What should I bring to my technical check?

  • Your final presentation on a USB drive.
  • Any videos or special fonts as separate files on a USB.

If your company does not allow USB file transfers, please contact your Content Operations Manager to make alternative arrangements.

Please Note:

You won’t be able to make changes to your presentation after your technical check.

Onsite pre-session briefing

If you are part of a panel with no presentation a technical check isn't required however we understand how important it is to feel as prepared as possible before arriving on the day, which is why we’ll be inviting you to an onsite pre-session briefing. This will happen the day before your talk, unless stated otherwise by your Content Operations Manager. These will take place in a dedicated space (not onstage). This will be an opportunity to run through the flow of the session with your dedicated Content Operations Manager as well as get answers to any last-minute questions you may have.

Promotion and Social Media

Promote your talk

You’re speaking at Cannes Lions

Promoting your talk ensures the right audience is in the room, ready to engage with your ideas and carry them further. It’s your opportunity to maximise the impact of your message and connect with the people who matter most.

Key messaging

Cannes Lions is the home of creativity that drives progress. The Festival is where insight, innovation and ideas come together to showcase the best of creative business and celebrate work that’s changing the world. Between the networking, learning and Awards, it’s where history gets made – and I’m delighted to be contributing to that history by speaking at Cannes Lions 2025.

When crafting your message in your promotional material, consider the following points.

And remember, the guidance we've provided is just that – so feel free to put your own tone and creativity into your posts:

Pre-Festival

I'm speaking at Cannes Lions 2025 about this subject…

This is where you can introduce the topic and title of your session, and announce any guests who might be joining you. In short, this is your moment to build some excitement.

One week before/during

Be at the [X] stage at [time/date], to hear me chat about…

For this post, you can include the granular details like location and time to ensure your audience knows exactly where to go and when. It also doesn't hurt to reiterate what your session will be about.

Post-Festival

It was great to get up on stage at Cannes Lions to talk about [topic]. If you missed it, it will be on The Work…

Finally, post a brief recap of your session and direct people to watch it again on The Work. Try accompanying your post with some pictures/video of your session so your audience can relive the moment with you.

Onsite

Pass pick-up

To collect your pass, you’ll need your badge barcode, which will be emailed to you in the days leading up to the Festival. You can also find it in your My Passes section of My Account. If you’re collecting a pass on behalf of speakers, you must have your ID and the speaker’s badge barcode.

You can only pick up your passes onsite at our Registration Office, located at the Gare Maritime. (We can’t send passes via email or post!)

The Registration Office is open from Sunday 15 to Friday 20 June.

Map of an area of the Cannes Lions Festival. The map shows an aerial layout of the venue situated along the coastline. On the top right corner there is the ‘Majestic Hotel’. Below the hotel is a road called ‘Boulevard De La Croisette’ running horizontally across the map. Below this road to the left is a Registration area and the Speaker’s Entrance. The main building, labelled ‘Palais I’, is centrally located on the map, with ‘The Terrace’, ’Rotonde’ and the “Cannes Lions School Campus’ positioned below it. There is an orange dotted line leading from the Speakers’ Entrance down through a gate, next to the Car entrance to the bottom left of the ‘Palais I’ showing an Entrance for Artists. Inside the ‘Palais I’ to right side of the building, there is a ‘Speaker’s Lounge’ accessible via stairs labelled ‘Stairs of the Palais’. There is a second orange dotted line from the Speakers’ Lounge through a Checkpoint leading past the beach labelled ‘Cabana Town’ trailing off the right side of the map. ‘Cabana Town’ beach has a pier extending into the ocean from the centre right side of the map to the bottom right. On the left side of the map there is the ocean.

The Speaker Lounge

The Speaker Lounge is a private space that only speakers and speaker support staff can access. It’s open from 8am to 6pm Sunday to Friday, and you’ll need your Speaker or Speaker Support Pass to access it. It has comfortable seating and desks, as well as a bookable meeting room for up to six people. Light snacks and refreshments are served throughout the day.

Use the Speaker Lounge to prepare for your session, connect with fellow speakers or simply enjoy a moment away from the wider Festival’s activities. If you’re planning to use a private space, make sure you book in advance – space is limited, and we process bookings on a first-come, first-served basis.

Car pass request

If you need to drop off your speaker for a tech check or session by car, you can fill out the Car Pass Request Form. Please note there is no onsite parking at the Palais, so this pass will only give you access for drop-offs and pick-ups.

Learning Speaker

What do you have in common with Malala Yousafzai, Marc Pritchard, will.i.am, Louis Theroux, Fernando Machado and Madonna Badger? They too were Cannes Lions School Learning speakers and now so are you.

Our goal is to help you – whether you’re a speaker or an organiser – feel as prepared as possible before you arrive in Cannes and to make your experience at Cannes Lions a career highlight. What are the Academies?

The LIONS Academies help rising young talent fast-track their careers and become the next generation of industry leaders. They combine inspiring classroom sessions with world-class speakers, hands-on learning and coaching from industry legends.

What are the Young Lions Competitions?

The Young Lions Competitions offer an exciting opportunity for global emerging talent to showcase their skills at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Launched in 1995, the Competitions have grown to 7 categories and challenge over 450 competitors from 70 countries with exciting briefs from a selection of INGOs and for good organisations. Judged by the Young Lions jury, teams have 24 - 48 hours to respond to the brief and have their chance at winning the coveted medals.

To be eligible for the Competitions, teams of two aged 30 or under must win their local competition which is organised by the Cannes Lions local representatives. Local Gold winners, sponsored by or paid for by their representative, then make their way to Cannes to compete.

Speaker support

Do you need specific people to attend the technical check or be backstage with the speaker(s)? Please apply for a Support Pass via the portal. You’ll need to do this even if these people already have a pass, as their regular pass won’t grant them access.

  • Speaker Support Passes are available for the day of your talk and/or the day of your technical check or onsite pre-session briefing.
  • You can apply for up to 2 applications, this does not mean you will be allocated 2 passes.
  • Approved passes are subject to our internal review process and we withhold the right to decline any application that does not meet our criteria, but if you have any questions about the process please reach out to your Content Operations Manager.
  • Applications will open soon on the Speaker Portal.
  • We have a strict deadline of 7 June. No applications can be made after this date.

Please Note:

Cannes Lions doesn’t cover accommodation costs for speakers. These must be paid for by the session organiser/speaker.

How to book your accommodation

After registering for your pass, head to the Cannes Lions website and log in. Your pass will be stored in the Purchased Orders section. Please note that each pass will sit under the account of the pass organiser you listed in the portal when you registered.

Below the pass details, you’ll see a ‘Manage Accommodation’ button.

You may need to fill out a Stage AV questionnaire on the portal.

  • Microphone types
  • Technical cues
  • Speaker entrances and exits
  • Positioning of countdown clock and monitors

Please Note:

You won’t be able to make changes to your presentation after your technical check.

LIONS Creators series speakers

We understand how important it is to feel as prepared as possible before arriving on the day, which is why we’ll be inviting you to an onsite pre-session briefing. This briefing is designed for speakers who don't need a technical check.

This will happen the day before your talk, unless stated otherwise by your Content Operations Manager. These will take place in a dedicated space (not onstage). This will be a chance to review the session's flow with your assigned Content Operations Manager and address any final questions you may have.

What happens in a pre-session briefing?

During the pre-session briefing, your Content Operations Manager will:

  • run through the flow of the session
  • discuss the entrance cues
  • go through the furniture and (if applicable) stage set-up
  • confirm the session length
  • finalise the meeting point and arrival time.

Promotion and Social Media

Promote your talk

You’re speaking at Cannes Lions

One of the most influential stages in the world of creativity and marketing.

I'm speaking at Cannes Lions 2025 about…

Car pass request

If you need to drop off your speaker for a tech check or session by car, you can fill out the Car Pass Request Form. Please note there is no onsite parking at the Palais, so this pass will only give you access for drop-offs and pick-ups.

Photography

Photography Hub

To help you post quickly on social media, we’ll be uploading photographs from various sessions and ambient images from around the Festival to this section of the Speaker Hub. During the week of the Festival, this section will become the Photography Hub.

See any photos you’d like us to remove? Email a member of the Content Operations team and we’ll get it sorted.

Please note you’re not permitted to use photos of other speakers.

We strive to capture every speaker speaking on stage, but we can’t guarantee that all Talks will be captured.

Want to bring your own photographer to your talk?

If you’d like to have your own personal photographer capture your Talk, please email the Content Operations Team with the details and we can arrange for them to be granted access to the Talk only.

Want to bring your own photographer outside of your talk time?

If you’d like to have a photographer there beyond your Talk, we can put you in contact with the Press and PR team, as your photographer will need to register for press accreditation. To register they need to be an accredited photographer and be able to show their body of work as evidence.

Accessing your media

Photos will be uploaded to the Photography Hub section once they have been edited.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to download any footage and session photographs from the Speaker Portal in the Post Event Media section. Please note that the turnaround time to the portal will be slower during the week of the Festival.

Sustainability at the Festival

We’re committed to having a positive impact on the environment and the communities we hold our events in. Our goal is to reduce both the waste and carbon emissions associated with our events.

What you can do to help

  • Travel green: If possible, choose trains or other low-emission transport options to help reduce your carbon footprint as you make your way to the Festival.
  • Be mindful of rider choices: If applicable, when making rider requests, consider what’s truly necessary. By requesting only what you need, you help minimise waste and ensure everything is used purposefully.

Every small action counts in creating a more sustainable future. Together, we can make every Festival experience greener and more responsible.

To learn more about our sustainability initiatives, visit Sustainability at the Festival.

Giveaways

We’re committed to reducing carbon and waste emissions from the Festival.

All giveaways should have an ongoing sustainable purpose, and items should be responsibly sourced and ideally made from recycled materials and designed using circular design principles. We’re happy to work with you to determine what items would work best.

Purpose: Why the freebie?

  • What's the real reason for your giveaway?
  • Will this item wow your audience or just collect dust? Is it something they’ll use, love or remember you for?

Production: What’s it made of?

  • Are the materials ecofriendly or recyclable?
  • Where’s it coming from? Is it locally sourced or has it travelled halfway around the globe? Consider the carbon footprint! 🌍

Prudence: Less is more!

  • How many do you really need? No one wants a pile of leftovers.
  • Have a plan for extras: reuse, recycle or give them a second life!

Please contact your Content Operations Manager directly if you’re interested in doing a giveaway.

Accessibility

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available for all sessions across the Lumière and Debussy Theatres as well as the Rotonde and Terrace Stages. Real-time text translation to delegates’ devices will also be available across the Festival.
